Hey People!
It seems that we have been "investigating" a lot of westernised food in this blog so this week shall be localised!
Therefore, I have decided to do Hokkien Mee!
And lucky (or maybe not so) me! Yesterday, while checking up on this plate of simply delicious-ness, i have found a table indicating the amount of fats in a plate of hokkien mee!

As you can see from above, the plate of Hokkien mee has thirty grams of fat in 2 servings. And since we eat around 5-7 servings daily (as mentioned at the top of the table), I shall take that we eat 5 servings (to reduce the pain of it all).
This means that one plate of hokkien mee has around (30 x 5) = 75 GRAMMES OF FAT!!
How sinful is that!!
But of course, there are always people who will say "WHO CARES?"
Yes, because look at this:

oh my! how can one not resist hokkien mee!!
plus! there is SEAFOOD!! which makes it all the more irresistable!
i swear, im like half drooling at the thought of steaming hot hokkien mee with the tangy spicy sambal chili! and to think lunch just ended like 2 hours ago!
I mean, if you think of singapore as a food heaven with different levels of delicious-ness of food, then hokkien mee is definitely on the top level!!
But then again, the top level is also the most unhealthy one, as you can see from a typical food pyramid.
It's kind of sad actually, that the more scrumptious a food is, the unhealthier it tend to be too.
THERE'S MORE!
Nutrition Facts (by recipezaar.com)
Calculated for 1 serving (231g)
The following items or measurements are not included below:
- hokkien noodles, Chinese barbecue pork, ketjap, manis

Just to avoid confusion, if you noticed my table above, the amount of fats is 30g. However, that was two servings. So if you do the math, this fact sheet says that 2 servings has 16.1 x 2 = 32.2grammes of fat!
So really, my sources are reliable, yes? After all, the facts are similar.
But don't worry, because all is not THAT bleak right?
After all, I have calculated. For someone of around 55kg, to get rid of all the calories of this plate of hokkien mee, we need to run for around 25 minutes at the speed of 10 mins per mile (meaning 10 mins per 1.6km).
That doesn't sound bad... right?
Ok. This is self-deception because i so will not run 4km after every plate of hokkien mee! That is just pure torture, for me, that is.
So yes people. Hokkien mee is UNHEALTHY!!
And for all you lazy people out that (people like me la) who dont want to exercise so much, please please cut down on fatty foods like this!!
Eat it only once in a while ok?
